For Humble Crew’s first monthly charitable event, we watched moving videos about the five charities we are focusing on in 2020 and discussed our plans for donating Humble Crew profits and donating our time. Our efforts are aimed at helping children in need by improving access to education, healthcare, and financial resources.
In 2020, Humble Crew will give away a $10,000 college scholarship to a family in need and help them set up a 529 college savings account. In addition, we donate profits each month to different charities including the Children’s Defense Fund, Federation for Children with Special Needs, International Rescue Committee, Malala Fund, and YouthBuild. Each of these organizations have a long and impactful history of helping children in the United States and abroad.
Each month, the entire Humble Crew team meets, eats together, plays games and has a great time, while at the same time working together to fulfill our mission of helping children and their families. For the January charitable event, we watched five videos to get a fuller appreciation of the charities we are supporting and discussed ways that we can become more involved and committed to our community. The video links are posted below.
For each month a different Humble Crew employee will plan a charitable event. Future events will include participating in events sponsored by our five 2020 charities, working at soup kitchens, delivering holiday presents, donating Humble Crew products to schools in underserved neighborhoods, Habitat for Humanity home-building, and many more. The employee who runs the monthly event will write a blog piece sharing the fun we had as a team and the efforts we took to try to give back to our community.
